FACING SUNRIZE, part II
Chapter 6, page 4
As he was saying these things to Jzurlea, he removed a device from his
satchel and began setting it up before her in the cave. Jzurlea was becoming
afraid now. She watched the Shining Brother assemble the device, but was
torn between watching him and thinking of Gongi. She really needed to get
back home. Gongi might wake up and need her. "I think I'll be going now,"
she said getting up to leave.
"Wait now..." said the Shining Brother, "you are about to encounter
your heart's desire." "I am" she asked incredulously. She felt slightly giddy
when he seated her upon the little device. "Pull the lever now" he instructed
her with a warm smile, which she did hesitating at first. Instantly the machine began to whirl, and then she felt it move beneath her. "Wait" she exclaimed as the machine moved toward the mouth of the cave. "What is this?! Where am I going?! How do I get back.....?!"
"Never mind about that" he called to her as the machine whirled out of
the cave and into deep space. "I'll meet you there" he added, but she didn't
hear what he said because she was already far far away.
She was breathing differently than usual, and felt distinctly different all
over. In fact, she was no longer aware of her body. The contraption had lifted
her high into the sky, and been vibrating intensely. She was hanging on for
dear life as the chair rocked and rolled uncontrollably. She could see the
earth tumbling before her, and she was nauseous. She must have lost
consciousness.
Now she was dreaming again...dreaming that she was being stretched
until she was very very long. She was like a ribbon now, rippling in deep
space. She was holding on with her hands and toes to the ends of the Universe. She could feel a marvelous ticklish sensation throughout her body and limbs. At the tips of her fingers and toes especially she felt this wonderful sensation. It made her laugh uncontrollably,(as though someone were tickling her)shaking all the stars and planets, down to the very leaves of the trees. Oh she didn't want to do that. But her laughter echoed throughout time and space. Now she let go with her hands and toes, snapping back into somewhere.
She wasn't really sure where, but she had become very very small now.
Smaller than the smallest atomic particles. She had come apart...or was she
being pressed together? Simultaneously, she experienced these extremes as
she tumbled through space and time and dimension on the little machine. She didn't know how she'd gotten there, where she was going....or why anything was.
She had forgotten Jzurlea now. All she could feel was the weight and
pressure of space all around her...crushing her into the endless void...the
oblivion before her. In the dark, quiet, deep space within herself, came
spiraling a musical sound ringing softly like a bell. Through it she stretched
out again across the Universe. Though she would not always remember this
experience consciously, nor be able to define it in words, the feeling of being
completely liberated from cells and dna would remain. The memory of the
feeling was etched into the grooves of her soul, and would be a refuge for her during the discouraging events that would transpire on the path of her
migration before her where her Destiny awaited.
Destiny though promised, is not a given. One must learn from the lessons, to claim the right to have a Destiny. For now, all she knew was the moment...the now, in which she was again a brightly colored ribbon, rippling without form in and out of the currents of her deep inner space. In that poetic moment, she remembered a poem she'd written, and spoke the words aloud:
"Though stars fade quietly within the night before,
The madness of me reaching for them in the dark, is ever more....
Though it has now become....the reaching, for the Sun!"

Harmony & Maji Swim to the Grotto
She found herself on a rock. Before her, the great blue ocean splashed
and crashed at her feet. Just then a man jumped into it and called to her."Come on," he shouted above the rushing sound of the water and wind. He was swimming away. Without really thinking about it, she jumped in and followed him. "Ahhh!!" she screamed. "It's cold!" But he didn't hear her. He was swimming and she followed instinctively.
They swam together following the rocky shoreline which revealed little caves where the water inundated and retreated at high tide. She could feel fish touch her legs. Curious, turtles popped their heads above the water to see the humans visiting their domain. Then they came to a landing. A couple of small waterfalls overflowed from it into the sea. It was fresh water. It spurted from the rocks. It was crystal clear.
The waves were powerful and frightened her as they crashed with immense intensity upon the rock wall. "Duck under the wave before it crashes," the man told her. "Why it's Hokami" she thought and did as he told her. The wave pushed them up on the sandy bottom. She held onto a rock that held her fast when the wave receeded. Quickly the man was climbing up onto the landing. She followed him. "Oh!" she shouted when she stood on top. "That was such fun!" He agreed and held her close. His body was hot even though he dripped water from his hair and shorts. He kissed her forehead and began climbing over the rocks to tide pools on the other side. The rocks stretched out for a hundred or so feet with little tide pools in which she could see exotic little fish and other creatures swimming about in their own little universe, probably looking for something to eat. There was plenty of sea grasses and who knows what they were eatting. Each little tide pool was so diverse and totally captivated her.
Now the man had walked to the edge of the rock landing. There was a large pool there. It was maybe ten or so feet wide and deep. When the wave hit the landing, it spashed onto the pool. He jumped in. When the wave receeded, He held onto the rocks so he wouldn't be pulled out over the rocks into the sea. She walked over to him. "That looks like fun!" she said. "It is," he said. "It's feels like a sauna. Come on in!" he said getting out. "How deep is it?" she asked trembling a little. "Don't worry. You'll be fine," he laughed, encouraging her to leap in. She squeezed her nose, closed her eyes and took the leap. "Oh this is fabulous! I love it! I love it! Oh....it IS like a sauna!" she screamed ecstatically. "Look out" he said cautioning her. Here comes the wave." The wave crashed over her....
Again she was in space. She was tumbling down it seemed, thru lavender clouds, that laid her down gently upon the sand. She lay on a towel, in the shade of a little palm tree on the rocky shore near to where she had jumped into the water earlier.
